Ms. Franano has an extensive background in community and professional field involvement, and public policy work having served in leadership positions with the League of American Orchestras (LAO), as grants panelist and site evaluator for the Missouri Arts Council, the Florida Department of Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts and the Pew Charitable Trusts, and on evaluation task forces for National Arts Stabilization and the LAO. She has served on the boards of the Statewide Arts Advocacy League of America and Arizona Citizens/Action for the Arts and as co-chair of Tucson’s collective of arts and culture executive directors, the Nature Arts Culture Heritage Organizations (NACHOS).
Ms. Franano is an alumna of undergraduate and graduate studies at Stephens College, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music, Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business’ Executive Program for Non-Profit Leaders—Arts.
